Utah Lindy Exchange
The Utah Lindy Exchange is a dance and Jazz event that brought you great jazz music from live bands, such as Glenn Crytzer and His Syncopators.
This year's main highlight was the one and only "Polygamy Lindy Contest!" It's a fun contest where you compete by dancing with more than one partner. We thank dancers for coming out and competing, and especially for the community who watched our competitors in their most inventive dancing ever!

Registration and Check-in
Pre-registered guests pick up their packets. Weekend passes may be purchased for $70. T-shirts for $15.

Thursday Night Dance
DJ contest between local dance scenes: USU Big Band Swing Club, U of U Swing Kids, and BYU Swing Kids. Dancers vote for the winning team! Dancers voted and USU's Josh Ferrer Won. Congratulation Josh!!!

Friday Night Dance
Live music by the Nate Anderson Band! Also compete in our free-to-enter endurance contest with prizes.
Time: 8:00 pm - Midnight

Friday Late Night Dance
Lindy and Blues until the early morning. Two rooms of dancing so you can choose your mood. Dance to music played just for dancers by respected DJs.
Time: 1:00 am - 4:00 am
Location: Xcite Dance Studio

"It's more fun with more than one!"
This is an "all-in" Lindy Hop dance contest. Everyone grab a partner and dance until you drop. This free-to-enter contest features prizes for the last couple who survives increasing speeds of music over several long minutes of fantastic jazz music.
Couples dance until they pull themselves out. If you lose track of the rhythm for too many counts, half-time, or perform too simple of moves, like Charelston basic - you'll be tapped out by our judges.

Utah has three University Swing Clubs: the University of Utah Swing Kids, BYU Swing Kids, and Utah State University Big Band Swing Club.
The ULX hosted a DJ contest at each University's club to find the very best DJs at each scene. Finally, after the contests were decided by members of the club, we are proud to announce the winners of each contest. The winners will be competing Thursday, September 22 to see which club reigns supreme!

Cassie LeClair-Marzolf just recently made the transition from U of U student to Alumni. She's been social dancing since age 14, but fell in love with Lindy Hop 5 years ago. "This kind of music is in my blood. My grandmother danced to the original big bands!" Cassie is fast becoming an accomplished DJ in the Utah scene.
Josh Ferrer hails from Utah State University. As well as being a fantastic DJ for his scene, he is also the team captain and choreographer for USU Swing Club's A-team: Swingcopation. Last year, the team placed first in Denver's Intercollegiate Swing Battle.
Taka Yanagita is currently one of the top DJs at BYU's Swing Kids Club. He has also been a frequent DJ of the vintage dance, Savoy Swing Nights. His collection is large, but his love of jazz is even larger.
Wheeler Historic Farm has a beautiful activity barn that features are recently refinished wood floor! Here we will have our University DJ Battle! Come and vote for your favorite University DJ. Who will you support, BYU, USU or U of U?
